Fluffy Phone Cover

DIY hurkx craft leonie leonies-creations.blogspot.sg design arts creative phone cover

Last weekend I made this phone cover. It is a bit fluffy so it protects you precious phone well from scratches a if you drop it (not from too high of course :) !) The example is for an iPhone but you can adjust the size to fit your own phone size. It is made in a few simple steps and can be hand sewn as well since the seams are short. It will take about 1 hour to make when you are hand sewing (20 minutes with the sewing machine). Have fun!

Materials:

1 piece of pink cotton, size: 3 x 19 cm
1 piece of dark blue cotton, size: 4 x 19 cm
2 pieces of grey cotton, size: 18 x 19 cm, and size: 6 x 19 cm
1 piece of wading, size: 12 x 18 cm
1 pink Chinese button
1 string, size: 5 cm

Method:

1. Cut out the pieces of cotton. Put the blue and pink piece on top of each other. Make a seam 0.5 cm from the edge of the material.

2. Put the blue/pink piece and the small grey piece on top of each other. Make sure that the right sides face each other. Again make a seam 0.5 cm from the edge of the material.

3. Put the blue/pink/grey piece on top of the big grey piece, with the right sides facing each other. Again make a seam 0.5 cm from the edge of the material.

4. Fold the piece over the length. Make a seam 0.5 cm from the edge. Make sure that the edges of the pink and blue band match where the seam is made.

6. Fold the wading around the piece and pull the the other part over it so the wading gets fully covered.

7. Make a seam over the bottom end. Turn the pocket inside out. And stitch the Chinese button on one side of the opening and the string on the other side of the opening. You are done!
